San Marino. Pdcs: “Law on justice, the culmination of a court restructuring process”
“The Christian Democratic Party of San Marino expresses satisfaction with the approval of the Constitutional law that will regulate the Judicial System, with respect to competences, certain procedures and functions”.
This is what is stated in a press release from the PDCS. “After almost twenty years from the first reform, which required an adaptation to the indications of the international bodies (GRECO) in favor of an ever greater autonomy of the Judiciary with respect to the other powers of the State, the Great and General Council also gave the Republic of San Marino a new regulation of this matter, with the favorable vote of 43 Directors. The text of the law, drawn up in its initial phase by the technical commission – prepared on behalf of the Government and formed by the President Giovanni Canzio, by Magistrates, Lawyers and University Professors – and presented to the Council Commissions in June, was studied and evaluated in these months by the political forces, to try to harmonize the general lines with the peculiarities of our country. This law, which confirms the choices made by this Majority and this Government to restore a judicial system in San Marino that guarantees legal certainty, is the culmination of the Court’s restructuring process, which had as its key elements, the appointment of the President Canzio as Executive and the completion of all degrees of judgment and of
higher degrees with highly renowned Italian and international Magistrates. The Christian Democracy intends to particularly thank the Secretary of State for Justice and Family Massimo Andrea Ugolini for the work done so far, and welcomes the joint statement published by the Magistrates and Lawyers of San Marino, which unanimously confirms the goodness of the work done . With the same spirit and the same commitment, the PDCS already intends to continue work for the definition of the other laws deposited, useful for streamlining and improving judicial proceedings but, above all, to schedule the other structural reforms for our country as soon as possible, necessary to give sustainability to our economy and to the social system “.
