Helsinki Roosters adds Nolan Bernat of former Illinois DB

The Helsinki Roosters for Finland Maple League have signed the former University From Illinois (NCAA D1) defending defender Nolan Bernat.
Bernat is excited to join 22 times Finn masters.

The Barlett, Illinois the native made 11 tackles, one abduction and one throw bending while playing mainly corner defender and special teams. While playing Illini, Bernatia coaches the former Chicago bears coach Lovie Smith.
After the last university term in 2019, Bernat spent the 2021 term back Dupagen University serves as the team’s defensive back coach and c0 special teams coordinator.
Bernat joins a Roosters the team is again led by the head coach Juha Hakala. The Roosters achieved eight championships in a row in 2012-2019 and plans to regain the league championship in 2022.
