Viktoria starts spectacularly and yet she cannot win again
Viktoria Berlin missed the hoped-for turnaround in the third division. Against sixteenth in the table, Türkgücü Munich, the promoted team did not go beyond 0-0. The Berlin nurse was really able to convince in the first ten minutes of the game.
Third division soccer team Viktoria Berlin missed the hoped-for home win against Türkgücü Munich on Saturday afternoon. In front of 574 spectators in the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark, the promoted team did not go over 0-0 against the sixteenth in the table. After a strong start to the season, the Berliners are still in the middle of the table as newcomers with 23 points, but have only won one win out of the last ten games.
Spectacle at the start
Benedetto Muzzicato’s requirement was clear: stick to your own game idea – even if it had not brought much profit recently. And so the coach of offensive (combination) football should have liked the best, which his team showed in the minutes. The blue sky literally swept over Turkgücü. Lukas Pinckert hit the crossbar (4th) after a corner from Enes Küc, Björn Jopek aimed from ten meters from the goal (6th) and guest keeper Franco Flückiger was first warmed up by Pasqual Verkamp (7th) and then shone in one -v-one against Christopher Theisen (10th). It was wild, spectacular football from Victoria – with one drawback: the goal was missing. At Türkgücü only Sercan Sararer caused danger during this phase (9th).
Suddenly nothing more happens at the gates
“Our system is designed in such a way that we always apply pressure. The biggest problem is that we don’t reward ourselves for it,” said Pinckert at half-time on the pay-TV platform Magenta Sport. But it was also part of the truth: After ten furious minutes, the game flattened out. The storm became idle. Until the break, there was no more situation that deserved to be called a scoring chance.
After the break, the game woke up from sleep mode. And it was – as at the beginning of the first half – Pinckert who had the first chance. The 24-year-old entered the penalty area via the right side and shot goalkeeper Flückinger through the legs from an acute angle, but not into the goal (49th). However, this time there is no offensive urge phase for the home side. On the contrary: It should be the last top opportunity for the third division promoted team in this encounter.
Lewald sees yellow-red
The guests from Munich were now offensively better in the game than in the first round, but: Viktoria goalkeeper Krahl still had nothing to do. Neither Sararer (51.) from the left nor Philip Türpitz centrally from the distance (60.) brought their conclusions to the goal.
It all seemed to come down to a – unspectacular as well as performance-based – 0-0, before Jakob Lewald made it exciting again: After a foul against Türkgücüs Eric Hottmann, he was thrown off the field with yellow-red. This gave the table sixteenth another noticeable boost and the attacks became more urgent. Viktoria had to tremble a little – and that into the third minute of stoppage time: Albion Vrenezi shot just past the goal to the right.
