Opponents of vaccination offer money for positive PCR tests
Bless you
Some unvaccinated people have asked those who tested positive to gargle for them. With the falsified positive test result, the unvaccinated people are then considered “recovered”, even though they have never been through an infection. Tracking is difficult.
Money for a fake gargle test, up to 150 euros, is offered, in some cases five samples should be made for the whole family. Such reports have increased since the 2G rule. The health authorities know about this test gap, but it is difficult to legally prosecute these people.
Penalty: Up to one year in prison
According to prosecutors, people who die from the fake gargle tests face a fine or up to a year in prison. As soon as the state of Salzburg has a concrete suspicion, the respective person will be reported, warns the authority. With the falsified positive result, these people want to avoid testing, for example, and are officially recognized as “recovered”.
This scam is the first since the 2G rule, according to State Medical Director Petra Juhasz: “As far as I know from the stories, people would rather accept quarantine than infected people – and then receive a recovery certificate for a certain period of time to have.”
Fake results could prolong the pandemic
These falsified results could influence the further course of the pandemic, according to the state medical director: “Of course it is on our head when we have many recovered people on paper – but who actually have no immune protection.”
Despite the test gap, the state of Salzburg will stick to the test strategy, according to the office of Governor Wilfried Haslauer.
