Toulouse: the metropolis calls on the private sector to pick up the trash
Following the social movement of garbage collectors, who defend their achievements and the finished party against the establishment of the 35 hours, private companies have been called in to pick up unauthorized garbage cans on time.
Private companies such as Coved or Véolia have been approached by Toulouse Métropole in recent days to complete the public household waste collection service. Due to the ongoing social conflict with the garbage collectors, who defend their achievements and in particular the finished job, half of the collection rounds are not completed within the allotted time, according to the community, and many garbage cans are not collected on Toulouse Metropolis. “Much more: undoubtedly 80% of the tours are not completed on time”, according to Benoît Fontanilles, spokesperson for the inter-union FO, CGT, FA-FPT, FSU, Solidaires Sud and Unsa, “the garbage collectors do not hang around. not, but by respecting the rules as strictly as possible as at their request, the garbage collectors cannot complete most of the rounds, ”affirms the union leader.
Endgame against 35 hours
The finished party allows the garbage collectors to leave as soon as the tour is finished, that is to say at 10 a.m. for a service pick-up at 5 a.m. Toulouse Métropole wishes to apply the 35 hours, i.e. 7 hours of work per day, with therefore a departure at noon for a service start at 5 a.m.
“With the finished party, we do not take the 20-minute break and we do not count the dressing and undressing as well as the shower time, indicates Benoît Fontanilles, with the schedules that are imposed on us, it does not pass not, it is the taxpayers who will pay for the private sector ”.
