Hospitals: police increased protective measures – SALZBURG24
Corona opponents have been calling for actions in front of hospitals in various messenger groups for days to protest against the government. Although there have been no specific announcements to date, the authorities are taking the calls seriously.
In the city of Salzburg, three rallies against corona measures have been registered for Wednesday. However, none of them in front of the state hospital, said a police spokeswoman on Tuesday at the APA request. In any case, the police are ready to go. For a few weeks now, as a security measure, the vicinity of Salzburg’s hospitals has been increasingly monitored by police patrols.
Increased police patrols in front of hospitals
The situation in Styria is similar, as an APA broadcast revealed. Currently no rallies or demonstrations in front of hospitals are registered, but various patrol services are dying to keep an eye on hospitals, but also on Covid test and vaccination streets and other critical infrastructure. The Steiermärkische Krankenanstaltengesellschaft (KAGes) said that due to the pandemic there is currently a ban on entering all hospital areas, and that there are only exceptions to this under certain conditions. Events on the hospital premises are prohibited anyway. The police assured that certain forums on the Internet and messenger services would be followed and that unannounced rallies would be responded to in the event of specific suspicions. In mid-November, for example, there was a “peace walk”, including to the LKH Voitsberg. Around 200 participants and opponents of mandatory vaccination were counted at that time.
In Upper Austria, the police are aware of five demonstrations against compulsory vaccination on December 1st. There will be three smaller rallies in Mondsee, Ried im Innviertel and Ampflwang (Vöcklabruck district). Two are planned in Linz, the one in front of the country house at 1 p.m., according to the police press office, the Carinthian anti-corona activist Martin Rutter reported. There will be no protection zones in front of the hospitals.
Police at vaccination and test streets
In Carinthia, the security service, which is already increasingly deployed at the hospitals as part of the access controls, was additionally sensitized by activists due to the potential danger. At the slightest sign, doors would immediately die and additional reinforcements would be requested and the police would be alerted, the country said at the APA request. In addition, the hospitals are in constant contact with the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Fight against Terrorism, the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Fight against Terrorism, and the executive. The latter has been focusing on protecting the critical infrastructure for weeks. Police spokesman Mario Nemetz told the APA that hospitals, but also other facilities, would be approached more and more by police patrols. This also applies to the vaccination and testing roads in the country.
In Vorarlberg, no demonstrations in the vicinity of hospitals were registered for the time being, but the tasks wanted to remain “vigilant”. Governor Markus Wallner (ÖVP) made it clear that he had absolutely nothing to do with demonstrations in front of hospitals: They would hit the wrong people. Rainer Fitz, press spokesman for the state police department, continued to answer an APA request that there had been no problems in the vicinity of the hospitals so far. For security, patrol officers would check the areas more intensively.
Tyrol does not prohibit a seat
No special security measures for hospitals are currently planned in Burgenland. So far there have been no incidents in front of the hospitals in the state. These are part of the general controls in lockdown and are part of the “usual surveillance area,” said a police spokesman when asked by the APA. Controls would be carried out accordingly.
And the state police headquarters in Tyrol also said that no space was banned in front of the hospitals in Innsbruck, especially since they were informed about demonstrations. Also in the other districts – where the responsible district authorities are – nothing of this kind is known.
