Take part in the World Cup in Argentina
The 17th Ordinary Elective Congress of the World Skate was to be held in Paris to open the post-Tokyo Olympic path in the city that will host the Olympic Games in 2024 and instead, due to the spread of the current pandemic and the uncertainty of the situation, the board of directors has decided to hold the congress in Rome.
He made it known with a press release there San Marino roller sport federation, whose president Anna Rosa Marchi last Saturday he went to the Hall of Honor in the Palazzo del Coni in Rome, where 70 presidents of the various Federations recognized by World Skate met, while 34 of them participated remotely connected by a voting platform.
To the World Skate congress Giovanni Malagò, president of Coni, and Francesco Ricci Bitti, president of the association that groups together the international sports federations that belong to the IOC participated.
The presidents and vice-presidents of the various continental confederations were elected, as well as the president and vice-president of World Skate: Sabatino Aracu was confirmed at the helm of the World Federation, a role he has held since 2005; in the post he will be joined by Karen Doyle, president of the Australian Federation.
Luis Senica of Portugal was elected for the European Confederation, flanked by Irmelin Otten of Germany.
On this occasion there was also talk of the next world skating that will take place in Argentina next year, pandemic permitting.
The San Marino roller sport federation is said “confident of being able to participate in the World Cup in Argentina, as it already happened in 2009 in Barcelona”.
