San Marino. Meeting at Palazzo Begni on the fostering of unaccompanied foreign minors
“This morning at Palazzo Begni there was a meeting between the parties in charge of working in the procedures for the custody of unaccompanied foreign minors, on the particular occasion of the presence in San Marino of the President of the” Still I rise “Association, Nicolò Govoni, accompanied by an operational staff “.
This was announced in a press release. “This Association was in fact authorized by the State Congress, alongside the Community of Sant’Egidio, to operate in the practices cited pursuant to Law no. 79/2021; it is a recently established non-governmental organization that represents a reality important on the international scene, dealing with refugee and vulnerable minors and, in particular, guaranteeing their education and the protection of fundamental human rights.
During the morning, President Govoni took part in the technical table dedicated to the issue of custody of unaccompanied minors, together with the representatives of the offices and services involved, including the Directorate of Legal Affairs of the Foreign Department and the Minor Protection Service of the ‘Institute for Social Security.
The meeting made it possible to focus on the activities of each party involved in carrying out the procedures required by law and represented an important opportunity for knowledge and discussion on the action exercised by “Still I rise”.
The President Govoni presented the multiform activities of the Association, the realities in which it operates, the difficulties encountered, recognizing a profound significance to the path started by San Marino and, above all, noting the agility and promptness of the San Marino apparatus, found in other reality at the political, institutional and operational level.
The morning provided the opportunity to build the network of collaborations and to concretely highlight the phases preceding the implementation of the same assignment and on which the shared approach and synergistic cooperation are considered fundamental.
The morning ended with the presentation to the press of the new legislation contribution of “Still I rise”, in the presence of the President of the Foreign Council Commission Paolo Rondelli, who particularly followed the path of adoption of the important legislation.
The Community of Sant’Egidio also made a contribution to the morning dedicated to the issue of the custody of unaccompanied foreign minors, intervening in virtual mode at the press conference, right from Rome Fiumicino Airport, where refugees from Syria and Afghanistan through the humanitarian corridors.
