The young designers of San Marino were awarded by Ucs and Usl
Last Thursday the award ceremony of “Even the walls say so: enough with violence – Together for gender equality and equal opportunities”, a competition organized by the San Marino Consumers Union and the San Marino Workers Union.
“On this occasion of the 166 competing designs, 37 reached the final, 18 were awarded ex equo with a plaque and 19 with a medal, but the most significant prize will consist in the transformation, starting from the year 2022, into murals and / or similar work of each chosen drawing, with evidence of its author / s in the nine Castles of the Republic of San Marino “, they declare in a joint note San Marino Consumers Union and San Marino Workers Union, who believe that, “with this initiative aimed at school children of all levels and young citizens and residents, the walls, instead of an image resistance or an obstacle, will not be messengers themselves and will arrive with their images directly to the hearts of the people“.
“Surely only starting from childhood and up to university can action be taken for a growth in the culture of respect between genders which represents a necessary goal, in order to overcome stereotypes and prejudices – Ucs and Usl underline -. The value of equality, equal opportunities, the culture of respect, respecting diversity, is recognized as one of the values of our society, because, if respected by everyone and everyone, it is a value that puts away discrimination and violence of gender and which allows all individuals, men and women, to fulfill themselves in their emotional, social, cultural, working and family life “.
“It was difficult to choose – says Giorgia Giacomini, general secretary of the Usl – because each drawing carried with it an important message and contained a strong emotion. Participants collaborated with their commitment, to put a significant piece on issues such as gender equality, equal opportunities and shouted a strong no to violence. The biggest thanks it goes to the girls and boys, to the girls and boys who responded in such large numbers to this initiative and of course to the families, teachers and managers who believed, supported and supported the boys ”.
“We have rewarded the children and young people – says the president of Ucs, Francesca Bussignani – and see them It is fabulous to see that among them there was a real interest in the problem of gender-based violence and against women and no envy between those who won and those who were finalists, but joy, respect and desire to dare to make a contribution to subtraction; there is hope for a better tomorrow“.
All the works “will be exhibited in a temporary exhibition at the Atlante Shopping Center, on the 4th floor, starting from December “.
The initiative “sees the patronage of the State Secretariats for Education, Interior, Health, Territory and Tourism and the collaboration of the Human Sciences Department of the University of San Marino and the Giunte di Castello”.
