Florence, interruption of the tramway for the location of a contact wire
Line T1 of the Florence tramway will be interrupted on the evenings of November 30 and December 1 for maintenance. The intervention concerns the union of the contact wire that feeds the electric line. In the interrupted sections the service will be carried out by a replacement bus.
Here are the service outages:
On November 30, the T1 Line will be suspended from 22.00 until the end of the service (half past midnight) between the Porta al Prato and Arcipressi stops. This stretch will be served by a replacement shuttle bus.
Line T1 will therefore circulate from Careggi to the provisional terminus in Porta al Prato, and from Villa Costanza to the provisional terminus in Arcipressi.
In this stretch it will come the most demanding intervention was carried out: 760 meters of contact wire will be replaced near the Batoni and Sansovino stops.
On 1 December, again starting from 22.00 until the end of the service (midnight and a half), they will be replaced with another 540 meters of contact wire near the Federiga stop.
Line T1 will not operate between the Moro and Porta al Prato stops, stretch that will be served by a replacement shuttle bus.
Line 1 will therefore be active from Villa Costanza to the temporary terminus Moro and from Porta al Prato to the temporary terminus Careggi.
The contact wire feeds the tramway through contact with the pantograph. Manage constantly monitors the order of the wire and, when necessary, intervenes for its wear in order to always guarantee perfect contact. To carry out the work, the sections of the line necessary to ensure maximum safety will be disconnected. The work, carried out at night and on weekdays to minimize inconvenience to passengers, will be carried out by the Gest teams flanked by Elettri-Fer technicians and will make use of 2 motorcars and 1 flatbed wagon.
