Joséphine Baker’s memory honored
AS Monaco paid tribute to the American actress and singer this Sunday afternoon on the sidelines of the meeting against RC Strasbourg Alsace.
On the occasion of Joséphine Baker’s entry into the Pantheon on Tuesday, November 30, and the national tribute paid to this figure of the twentieth century, AS Monaco triggered the memory of the American activist, deeply linked to Monaco, where she has rested since her disappearance in 1975.
Jeannot Bouillon-Baker, his son, indeed gave the fictitious kickoff of the meeting this Sunday afternoon between AS Monaco and RC Strasbourg (1-1).

AS Monaco had also invited Delphine Martins-Bouillon and Sébastien Bouillon (grandchildren of Joséphine Baker), Noémie Martins – Bouillon and Olivia Bouillon (great-granddaughters), as well as Bastien Bouillon and Anthony Martins-Bouillon, the rear – grandchildren of the singer, who evolve respectively in U7 and U12 within the Club.
They were received by Oleg Petrov, Vice-President Director General of AS Monaco, a few moments before the meeting on the TheCorner terrace of the Stade Louis-II.
Licra Monaco, in which Joséphine Baker worked for a long time and of which she remains an honorary member, was represented by its president Eric Fissore and Rachid Boudni, member of the sports commission.
