For the 26th consecutive year, the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA) awarded the best hotels and restaurants in the sector. “26 years is both a lot and a little. For these 30 years of transition, Bulgarian tourism, with all the mistakes we made, has 300% growth. We are in a very difficult situation at the moment, but as our Israeli colleagues say: “The one who knows how to lose wins!” Now is exactly the moment – we must survive. I am optimistic and I believe that better times will come after this crisis, “said BHRA Prime Minister Blagoy Ragin during the official awards ceremony this year.
Greater activity on the part of the tourism industry is needed for the country’s economic transformation, especially with regard to the recovery and sustainability plan. “It talks about the accelerated transformation of the economy and digitalization, which fully applies to the tourism industry,” said President Rumen Radev.
“The combination of health, economic, energy crisis and political uncertainty is a test for any business,” the head said. The President says that the crisis has revealed the lack of a strategic vision for the development of tourism, and in his words without such a vision we will not be able to cross the threshold of 15% of GDP from tourism, to which our country aspires.
“As a society and the state, we need to rethink the discovery of tourism as a simple means of subsistence and a good time. In today’s dynamic world, tourism decides a factor in attracting investment and retaining it. This is the best way to unravel our history beauty of our culture and nature, as well as to show the level of our national ambition.
“If I want to be well positioned on the map of capable, innovative and ambitious countries, we must develop the Bulgaria brand and this tourism is leading,” the head of state stressed in his speech.
“Bulgarian tourism and Bulgarian hoteliers and restaurateurs were not afraid and did not stop working. They managed to intend to have business models that allow them to continue to welcome guests. During this difficult year, we welcomed nearly 5 million tourists, “said caretaker Minister of Tourism Stella Baltova.
Four things are important for the hotel industry from all over Europe. This business is people’s business. “We provide employment in rural and urban areas in all parts of Europe, and it is important that these jobs are restored. And as I go through these efforts of time, it is right to receive support in these efforts. For me, both as an entrepreneur and as a business person, it is important to work on issues such as DDS, employment in the tourism and hospitality sector, in these employees of the time, “said Adrian Kamens, board member and chief treasurer of the European Hotel Association.
