more classes closed in the Toulouse academy
According to the latest situation report from the Toulouse rectorate, the number of classes and establishments closed due to the Covid-19 epidemic is increasing sharply.
The Covid-19 is accelerating in schools. The last point of the Toulouse rectorate, dated Thursday, November 26, reports an explosion in the number of classes, schools, colleges or high schools closed in the academy. Out of more than 31,000 classes, 379 are closed, against 204 a week ago. Haute-Garonne concentrates more than a third of the closures, followed by Hautes-Pyrénées, Aveyron and Tarn-et-Garonne. In addition, 5 school structures, against 4 last week, had to close their doors. These are 4 schools and a college, located in Ariège, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne and Lot.
A sharp increase in the number of Covid-19 cases
The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 is also skyrocketing. 1,134 students, out of 534,000, were reached during these last 7 days in the Academy of Toulouse, including more than 200 on the day alone yesterday. Proportionately, the increase is almost as strong among staff, including 155, out of 52,000, declared Covid-19 this week. Finally, with regard to the screening campaign, more than 10,000 saliva tests were offered and 7,600 carried out with students and staff, between Mondays 15 and 22 November.
