More sustainable and liveable Florence, a coordination of various associations is born
Florence, 25 November 2021 – A more livable and sustainable city. This is the goal with which it was born The Florentine family, an association that brings together various souls of the city including representatives of institutions, committees of residents and traders, names from the world of volunteering, politics, training and associations. A coordination of experts, each with their own skills, who have decided to network for the redevelopment of the city and ensure that it will become more and more suitable for residents.
In recent months, the coordination has carried out a dialogue with the resource recovery agency of the Tuscany Region, partner of European Empower project, to network with various realities including Rennes in France, Santander in Spain and Magdeburg in Germany, to rethink the role of historic centers and, more generally, the model of tourism. Because of this, Friday 26th November, right from the headquarters of The Florentine Family ETS association, in via Faenza 43, starting at 3 pm, the coordination will present a own city proposal within the final conference of Empower, a European project that aims to reduce CO2 emissions through the monitoring of energy efficiency in buildings.
Numerous guests will attend, including the councilor of Palazzo Vecchio for the Smart City Cecilia Del Re and the president of Casa spa Luca Talluri. “For five years nine European regions have worked together sharing experiences, solutions and best practices in order to reduce carbon emissions and introduce the use of innovative financial instruments in the energy sector. During the project, the regional resource recovery agency of the Tuscany Region, the Italian partner of the international consortium, prepared a regional action plan aimed at improving the management of public buildings to obtain at least the 10 percent savings energetic. We believe that a more sustainable city is also more liveable and therefore Florentine-friendly. We absolutely must prevent Florence too be overwhelmed by the Venice effect. We thank the Municipality of Florence which, with the Tourism Department, is moving in this direction ”, he underlines Mariagiovanna Laudani, Empower-project manager and one of the spokespersons of The Florentine Family.
The event, which will be broadcast live on the channel Empower Youtube, is to policy makers, local administrators, Smart City project teams, SMEs working in the energy sector and those interested in investing in this sector.
