Meet the Old Masters in Brussels
At the Dynasty Palace in Brussels, at the foot of the Mont des Arts, you can visit an interesting, interactive exhibition until the end of 2021. Bee Meet the Masters the work of Jan van Eyck, Pieter Bruegel and Pieter Paul Rubens is central.
You could see Meet the Masters as a sequel to Beyond Bruegel. When in 2019 the whole of Belgium was dominated by the art of Pieter Bruegel, an exhibition was shown in the Dynastiepaleis where his works were projected accurately. was deliberately chosen for moving images and an eye for detail, this exhibition was indeed a nice addition to the regular use of a museum. Two other famous Flemish Masters have been added to the successor of Beyond Bruegel: Jan van Eyck and Pieter Paul Ruben. During the interactive tour of Meet the Masters you will learn a lot about the artists, their work and the time in which they lived. That period runs from roughly 1430 to 1640.
Humour
With the help of an audio tour, a spoken guide takes you through time. Starting with Van Eyck. With a good dose of humor, the guide introduces you to the three projects carried out first. As a visitor to a room in which is simultaneously displayed. It is very nice how attention can be drawn to details. This makes Meet the Masters interesting for both families with children and seasoned art connoisseurs. The exhibit is both fun and fun.
The spectacle is in the final. Which is in a large hall there are pre-projections on the walls and the floor. This is where the three artists meet and start a conversation. The images shown are simply spectacular. It’s really nice to see the famous artworks of the three masters come to life like this. You really lack eyes. After about 50 minutes you are outside again.
The exhibition is very nice to combine with, for example, the Hockney exhibition in Bozar of a visit to the Old Masters Museum where you can admire works by Pieter Bruegel in real life. The Dynasty Palace is located practically next to the Central Station, so it is convenient to use the international train to come to Brussels.
