Infections are still growing in Friuli Venezia Giulia, increasingly towards the yellow zone
TRIESTE – New surge in infections in Friuli Venezia Giulia where for days the cases buy and climb non-stop. With 674 Covid positives per 100,000 inhabitants in Trieste, 492 in Gorizia, 186 in Pordenone and 183 in Udine, and a regional average of 503, the epidemic situation in the region continues to worsen. He notes this in a note there Gimbe Foundation publishing the data for the week 17-23 November for Friuli Venezia Giulia, which shows an increase of + 18.6% in new cases compared to the previous week.
As regards the hospitalizations from covid, from Gimbe show that the occupancy threshold of beds has been exceeded both in intensive care (14%) and in the medical area (18%). For vaccinations, Friuli Venezia Giulia continues to lag slightly behind for the population that has completed the first vaccination cycle, 75.6% compared to the national 76.7%. This difference is evident both for the first doses, 2.3% against the Italian 2.5%, and for the so-called ‘booster’ third doses, 28.6% against 29.1% of the Italian average. The Friuli Venezia Giulia, on the other hand, does better in terms of additional doses, with 89.4% compared to the national 85.3%.

Today, 845 in all have been recorded, 772 emerged from 8,856 molecular swabs and 73 from 19,189 rapid antigenic tests. A 95-year-old woman from Muggia, in the province of Trieste, a 92-year-old from Trieste, an 87-year-old man from San Dorligo della Valle, also in the province of Trieste, and a 74-year-old from San Giorgio di Nogaro, in province of Udine. There are 28 Covid patients in intensive care, while 249 are hospitalized in other departments and the number of those in isolation still rises, 6,329 people. The data was communicated by the deputy governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia with responsibility for Health, Riccardo Riccardi.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the deaths have been 3,952: 900 in Trieste, 2,041 in Udine, 699 in Pordenone and 312 in Gorizia. The totally healed are 117,795, the clinically cured 155, the positivity in all are 128,508: 29,802 in Trieste, 56,146 in Udine, 24,917 in Pordenone, 15,868 in Gorizia and 1,775 from outside the region. Among the infections today 29 are workers of the regional health system, 23 are guests of retirement homes, 10 are operators of the various residences.
