Toulouse: the first fast charging stations for electric vehicles
Toulouse Métropole inaugurated the first two fast charging stations for electric vehicles. They allow you to recover 100 km of autonomy in 10 minutes. Fifteen stations of this type will be deployed by summer 2022.
The metropolis of Toulouse wants to “go quickly” to strengthen the supply of electric vehicle charging points. The market grew rapidly – 87% increase in registrations in Haute-Garonne in 2020. Or, the lack of charging stations remains the main obstacle to the purchase of an electric vehicle.
200 charging points today, 450 in eight months, in summer 2022
There are currently 200 charging points in the city of Toulouse. By the summer of 2022, we will increase to more than 450. “It is a decision of the President of the Metropolis, to accelerate the decarbonization of our transport”, explains Maxime Boyer. This Wednesday, November 24, the vice-president of the Metropolis in charge of new mobility inaugurated the first two fast charging stations. Fifteen, in total, will be deployed by August 2022. These terminals allow you to acquire 100 km of autonomy in 10 minutes. The firsts are organized at 259 avenue des Etats-Unis in Toulouse, opposite the Grand Marché MIN. They are accessible 24 hours a day. The price is 0.40 € per minute.
Even faster terminals installed in early 2022
The fourteen will also be called on busy axes of the city and the metropolis. The investment, shared by private players – Bouygues Energies et Services, Banque des Territoires, Caisse des Dépôts – is 4 to 5 million euros, as part of the Vilagil project, led by Toulouse Métropole. It also provides for the commissioning of two “ultra-fast” charging stations – 200 km of autonomy in 10 minutes, one of the two will be located near the Cité de l’Espace – and fifty other more conventional charging stations, in all of the areas. the districts of Toulouse, and the cities of Toulouse Métropole.
The network of conventional charging stations will continue to expand
These classic but powerful charging stations allow them to recover 100 km of range in 30 minutes. “All these terminals will be referenced on traditional localization tools, and on a dedicated site: Alizé Toulouse Métropole”, explains Christophe Mayen, Ddirector operenel mmobility France, at the house of Bouygues Energies and Services. On this site, users can also suggest new charging point locations. The deployment of charging stations is reserved, in fact, until 2026 in the metropolis. The charging stations are designed and manufactured in the region of the Cahors group (Lot).
Haute-Garonne: 100% more use of charging stations over 12 months
At the Haute-Garonne scale, outside Toulouse Métropole, 100 stations are available, used each time from two charging points, i.e. 200 charging points in total. These public terminals have been established and are established by the Haute-Garonne Departmental Electricity Union (SDEHG). They are distributed evenly over the territory of the department – excluding Toulouse Métropole – so that a user is never more than 15 km from one of them. Each socket is equipped with 2 charging points and allows accelerated type charging (22 KVA). They are located in central locations, easily accessible and close to services (administrative buildings, shops, etc.). Small vehicles, bicycles and electric scooters can also be recharged at these terminals using the sockets provided for this purpose.
THEuse of this network, 100% developed over the last 12 months. To go further in the rationalization of the use of charging stations, the SDEHG has decided to be the bearer, in partnership with the other Energy Syndicates of Occitanie, of the future master plan for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles which will take into account all these facilities, whether public or private.
