Take on the best climbing spots in Paris
Municipal sports facilities are expected from many climbing walls, whether you want to get started or you are confirmed as a climber. And the discipline will gain height in Paris, with new centers and gymnasiums that will welcome it in the coming months.
In the meantime, here are some good addresses to visit:
As part of the 2019 Participatory Schools Budget, a new climbing wall was installed in January 2021 in the school for 44 children in Izieu (13e). Its dimensions: 5.5 meters high and 15.4 meters wide, for a total climbing area of 86 m2.
Open since the beginning of summer in the Batignolles-Cardinet district (17e), Climbing district will satisfy thrill seekers, whatever their level!
The sports complex hosts multiple courses over 800 m2 of surface, 3 spaces, more than a limit of blocks per room… A wall 15 m long and 3 m high allows beginners to embark on an ascent in complete safety.
More fun, a wall equipped with digital and interactive sockets offers you to take up small fun challenges, to gain speed or to challenge yourself with friends. The pros for their part train on severe slopes. On these original, ultra-creative walls with a careful design, the blocks are regularly renewed to never grow tired and thus reconcile, at each session, body and mind. A warm-up room is also accessible to all.
Don’t wait another minute!
Already established in Montreuil, Bordeaux, Lyon and Massy, with the largest indoor bouldering space in France, Arkose logically develops its activities in the capital with one of the first bouldering halls.
1000 m² and more than 200 blocks for all profiles. Arkose has made this practice a secure “fun sport” activity, the level of which is increasing (colored routes like the ski slopes). The principle of the boulder is to climb without rope on modules up to 4.5 m high, with thick carpet on the ground for landing.
The little ones are not left out since formulas and an adapted space are dedicated from 3 years old. It is one of the rare new urban sports practices which is at the same time convivial, fun, complete and which one can practice alone, in group or in family.
Throughout the year, for novices or more experienced, Arkose also offers competitions, climbing courses, open days, tasting evenings, film screenings … and thus creates a real place of sharing around climbing.
