Romania-Republic of Moldova diplomatic relations on a philatelic issue – Awakening
Romfilatelia introduces into circulation, on Wednesday, November 24, the joint postal registration show “Romania – Republic of Moldova, Viticulture”. The show is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova at embassy level and can be found, from November 24, including in the magazine Romfilatelia from Bacău.
The stamp with a nominal graphic value of 2 lei brings together, in a unitary unit, the image of a painted Cup, which was made by the craftsman Colibaba Constantin in the Rădăuți Urban Workshop and a bunch of grapes from the Zghihară variety, from the Huși area.
The painted cup is part of the patrimony of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant and has as data: 3/4 sec. XX, probably the annulment of 1974. On the bottom of the cup is engraved the name of the master, “Colibaba”.
The Zghihară grape variety is known for many centuries before the destructive enemy of the calf, phylloxera, appeared. In the time of Stephen the Great, it was known as the source of an ordinary man’s wine, a pleasant wine, often found in the traditional announcement of Moldovans. Today, the variety is found only in the Huși area. The name Zghihara is of Turkish origin.
On the stamp with a face value of 9 lei is reproduced a Ploscă, made by the popular craftsman from the Republic of Moldova, Victor Pelin, and the bunches of a variety of structure representative for Moldova, Rara Neagră. It is the bunches of a kind of wine grape, very old, known since the Geto-Dacian period. The wine from this grape variety was among the favorite wines of Stephen the Great.
