Jacques and Gabriella from Monaco, this totally crazy artistic project in which they participated with their father
This Tuesday, November 23, the Monegasque sovereign inaugurated a sculpture for which he was requested as well as his twins. A first for them.
It’s a decidedly very original project, Jacques and Gabriella from Monaco, soon to be 7 years old (they are blowing out their candle on December 10), are ready with good grace. And this in the company of their dear father, the sovereign Albert II. Did they cut a cord? No. Sponsored a charity course? Not yet. Inaugurated a boat in their name? Already done. This time, they have agreed to participate in the development of an artistic work that pays tribute to all three of them.
Three is better
This original surprise, which Prince Albert inaugurated this Tuesday, November 23 on the terraces of the prisons (a garden with a sea view near the oceanographic museum), we owe it to the French sculptor Stéphanie Natéra. For this work of art called “So be it” that you can discover here, she chose to create a very original golden bench depicting a stylized cetacean. Which rests on a semi-circular plinth where you can see six footprints.
Ok, but what do the Grimaldis have to do with all of this? Well the twins and their dad quite simply accepted so that the work is completely complete to sit on the bench, to take off their shoes and thus to leave their own marks of feet! The artist has their names engraved in front of each of their prints. And offered a mini replica to the sovereign who can therefore exhibit it at home.
A magnificent work of art in favor of the environment
This work of art was not made by chance. As we know, Prince Albert II is a fervent environmentalist and a staunch defender of the seas and oceans. He also makes Jacques and Gabriella very aware of the environmental causes that are dear to him. Also not surprising that the sculpture highlights a cetacean, lord of the seabed. And not surprising either that there is also on the base a sentence to think about: ” All power is weak if it does not unite, let’s act together for my protection of cetaceans“. Nice tribute, nice collective awareness for the future. We hope so.
