Another 32,760 doses of Pfizer arrived in Chisinau
The National Agency for Public Health received a batch of 32,760 doses of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine. This is a new tranche of the 700,830 doses, purchased by the Ministry of Health, through the Office of Management of External Assistance Programs. The doses are to be distributed proportionally in all vaccination points in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Health, the acquisition was made in the context of the implementation of the “Health” Component of the Project “Emergency Response to COVID-19 and support for micro, small and medium enterprises”, in accordance with the Loan Framework Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Bank of Moldova. Development Council of Europe (CEB), signed on 29 July 2020.
In total, the Republic of Moldova received 913,550 doses of Pfizer vaccine, including through the COVAX platform – 125,190 doses; donation from Romania – 100,620 doses; acquisitions – 402,480 doses. To date, about 919 thousand people in the Republic of Moldova have completed the complete vaccination scheme. The Ministry of Health reported for Tuesday, November 23, 544 new cases of COVID-19, with 111 less than on Monday, November 22.
Also on Tuesday, 46 deaths were reported, associated with the new coronavirus, with 11 more, compared to Monday. Currently, 1,534 people confirmed with COVID-19 infection are hospitalized, of which 130 are in extremely serious condition, and 15 people are subjected to mechanical ventilation, informs. adevarul.ro.
