A window on the world in Florence: the 1st edition of the international festival “The World in Florence” kicks off
It opens at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence The world in Florence, The first Festival of cultural expressions of the world conceived and organized by Life Beyond Tourism Movement – Journey towards dialogue in collaboration with the Center for Studies and International Meetings and the technological partner Europromo, promoted by Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation, under the High Patronage of the European Parliament.
The one that will take place between 24 and 28 November in Florence is the first of five editions pointing to enhance the international attractiveness of the territories transforming the tourism in hospitality for inclusion, solidarity and intercultural dialogue.
The event involves the territories of the world in a story by narration of the places to make them known in a different way, through the descriptions and advice of those who live there: the residents.
FromAzerbaijan to Cameroon, passing through China, India, Georgia, Japan, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Kosovo, Lithuania, Poland, India and Italy: over 45 territories in the world will be told over two days on 25 and 26 November between live interventions and remote connections.
Representatives of the institutions, researchers, international teachers alternate in the cultural storytelling. Four keynote speakers are also expected, in charge of tracing the lines of the recovery of the post-Covid travel sector, starting from studies, research and forecast estimates.
The same territories will also be protagonists of an interactive photographic exhibition that will remain open in the Galleria delle Carrozze from 25 to 28 November. Thanks to panels equipped with NFC technology, visitors will be able to increase the online experience, discovering curiosities and insights on the web, thus experiencing a preview of the functioning of the Talking Places designed and created by the Life Beyond Tourism Movement – Travel to Dialogue.
The program will continue to grow. The World in Florence will travel the world to return to Florence involving 100 countries in the 2025 edition, five years after the ‘expiry’ of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, which invites us to imagine more human and creative cities.
