The former head of a Catholic college in Annecy tried for sexual assault
It’s a long-awaited trial. This Tuesday, the Annecy criminal court will judge the former deputy director of the prestigious Saint-Michel school. At 53, Jean-Marie Boasso is sued for two sexual assault on minors. He will also have to answer for consultation and possession of child pornography images, some of which involve students from the Catholic institution in Annecy.
“Let justice be done”
According to the survey, the oldest facts date back to 2016 and take place during spiritual retreats at La Frasse. For his part, Jean-Marie Boasso has always denied accusations of sexual assault. In total, six families are made a civil party. “This trial is a very important moment”, explains the father of one of the victims. “Children have talked about it a lot, now justice must be done.”
Jean-Marie Boasso was indicted in May 2018. The name of the former deputy director of Saint-Michel appeared while investigators were working on another morality case involving minors. It was that of Jean-Louis Mivel, former mayor of Cluses and also an executive of the Annecy Catholic institution. In November 2017, this case had ended with the death of the main suspect. He died of a heart attack in the waiting room of the Annecy courthouse before his hearing with the judge.
