Toulouse. The mind was not enough for the Bélougas
The heads of the Bélougas were low on Saturday when they returned to the locker room. Attached to the door, TBHC coach Eddy Martin patiently awaits the return of his players with the mask of bad days.
Valiant, the Blagnaco-Toulousains managed to bow to Annecy without having suffered from the comparison, on the contrary. Boccassini opened the scoring by throwing himself in front of the opposing goal and thus validated the perfect start of the premises, logically in the lead at the end of the first third. In the beginning of the second act, the TBHC managed to endure the famous intensity dear to Eddy Martin, but the rage displayed was not enough to contain the real cold of the Knights of the Lake, scorers on two blocks. The first after a mess in front of Lavalliere’s goals, then the second scored by the formidable Heiskanen (3rd top scorer in D2) who terrified one more defense with a surgical counter. The third third was mainly outnumbered for the Bélougas, too often at fault and it was not necessary so much to help the Annecy who drove the point home always via the butt of their flying Finn. It was over, the TBHC had fought well, perhaps a little too much in the literal sense of the word.
“Some defeats are useful”
“We fought well, it’s true, but we also have to control our emotions”, not exactly Eddy Martin, whose group fell back to 6th place in Pool B. “We let ourselves be distracted by the decisions referees and the many opportunities we missed … We have not managed to put the negativity aside, “regretted the Quebecer, wanting to use this first loss at home as a lesson. “Nobody minimizes this disappointment on the contrary … We will say that some defeats are useful and this is part of it”, assured the ex-striker now on the bench. “We were coming out of several victories and maybe we saw ourselves too good, this result makes us come back to earth and we will have to go back to work”, he concluded, announcing between the lines that the training program of the week is going to be busy.
