Buses will be added between Prague and Žatec. The village line returns to Karlovy Vary
A similar connection already existed. From next month, a completely new bus line will be added between Prague and Lubenec in the south of the Podbořany region. At the same time, Žatec and Lubenec, as well as Holedeč and St. Petersburg, will become part of the Prague Integrated Transport (PID) system. The changes will take effect on Monday, December 13.
The bus line between Žatec and Prague via Holedeč, Svojetín and other villages in the Rakovnicko and Kladno regions ran in the 1990s, now the Central Bohemian Region is introducing it as part of the PID. The buses of the new line will run from Prague’s Zličín via Tuchlovice and Nové Strašecí. “On its route to Žatec, it will serve the villages that lie north of Rakovník – Hředle, Mutějovice, Nesuchyně, Milostín and Svojetín,” the Prague Integrated Transport states in the announcement.
He will stop in Žatec in the only village – in Holedeč. “I can’t estimate how our inhabitants will use the new connection to Prague, but it will bring us another connection with Žatec, which is good. However, I am afraid that this will further reduce the number of passengers on trains, which in a few years may lead to the cancellation of connections on the railway line between Žatec and Lužná u Rakovníka, “said Holedeč Mayor Zdeněk Krejčík.
In total, the new line between Prague and Žatec will have 24 stops, the bus between Zličín and Žatec railway station will be managed by buses in an hour and a half. He will also stop in Žatec in Volyňských Čechů Street.
The timetable provides for ten connections in both directions on weekdays and four on Saturdays and Sundays. There is also a late evening. For example, on weekdays, the bus will leave Zličín at 10.30 pm and arrive in Žatec at midnight. Within the PID, the whole trip means nine tariff bands, the basic fare costs 90 crowns.
At present, several carriers provide connections between Žatec and Prague, but all buses run on a different route – via Louny or around the city.
From December 13, buses will also run on the new Prague – Lubenec line. This will bring the village further connections to the capital, currently FlixBus buses on the route Prague – Karlovy Vary stop there. “Every new connection is definitely good. If there are more buses to Prague, only well. In addition, the new line will bring connections to other connections, “said the mayor of Lubenec, Jiří Chaloupecký. Buses run from the village in the south of the Ústí Region to Žihle in the Plzeň Region or Valče in the Karlovy Vary Region.
Some bus connections in the Louny district have been included in the PID for several years. For example, the line Podbořany – Rakovník, Prague – Louny, Velvary – Peruc or Panenský Týnec – Slaný. However, the vast majority is part of the Ústí nad Labem Region’s transport system.
