The Saint-Romain fair ends in Rouen after a month of festivities
The Saint-Romain Fair ended this Sunday after a month of festivities and thrills. After a blank year due to the coronavirus and a 2019 edition disturbed by the Lubrizol fire, France’s second largest funfair has taken on its colors. In the opinion of fairgrounds and visitors alike, this 2021 edition was a success.
Like a rebirth after two dark years, the Rouen public returned to the Foire Saint-Romain with great happiness. Like Yohan who came with his son : “It is always a nice meeting for the children and it is a moment of family sharing so we are very happy to have found this celebration again this year”.
People thanked us for being there
We do not yet present attendance figures but at the sight of the smiles that appear on the faces of professionals, it is certain that visitors were numerous, despite the introduction of the health pass at the entrances to the Fair. “We were very scared at the beginning when the municipality and the prefecture warned us that the health pass would be required,” admits Karl Morel, member of the fair’s animation committee. “But in the end we managed to live with this constraint. People understood it. And we understood that we had to continue working in this direction.”
Owner of the “Royal Croustillons”, Armelle Paris says she is “very satisfied”. “This is an edition of the Foire Saint-Romain especially after the last two years when we have suffered enormously.” The rides were also full of courageous people looking for thrills. But what Iris, manager of an attraction, remembers above all are the beautiful reunion with the public. “People thanked us for being there. It makes us happy. We love our job and this mark of support is great.”
