The Convention on the Rights of the Child entered into force on November 20, 1989, and was one of the first to be ratified by Hungary. To commemorate this event, UNICEF, the United Nations (UN) Children’s Fund, celebrates World Children’s Day every year on this day.
On this occasion, the Statue of Liberty, the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, the Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the MÜPA, the Puskás Arena, the Danube Arena, the Corvinus University of Budapest and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, among others, received blue decorative lighting in Budapest. UNICEF Hungary launched today A Face the problem! MTI, which draws attention to young people with mental health problems, writes MTI.
According to the organization’s survey, at least one in seven young people aged 10 and 19 has been diagnosed with some form of mental disorder worldwide: 9 million adolescents in Europe alone are affected.
From November 20, the organization will help educators with a free online course to be able to recognize and, where possible, anticipate the more serious mental health problems of students entrusted with their care.
