Toulouse. It is not just Airbus that has hit the mark in Dubai: its ATR subsidiary announces 29 orders

Good news for ATR. At dubai air show (United Arab Emirates), from November 14 to 18, 2021, the regional transport aircraft manufacturer announced 8 orders devices since the beginning of the year.
29 orders since January for ATR
At the Dubai show, ATR recorded several new orders from companies Binter, Tarom, Air Corsica and Afrijet.
In detail, here is the new order book since the start of 2021:
- Ciel Express: six ATR 72-600s
- Tarom: three ATR 72-600s
- Binter Canaries: four ATR 72-600s
- Air Corse: five ATR 72-600s
- Client not disclosed: five ATR 72-600s
- Afrijet: three ATR 72-600s
- Japan Air Shuttle: an ATR 42-600
- Client not disclosed: two ATR 42-600s
A new range of engines launched
In addition to this good news, ATR formalized the launch of the new PW127XT engine which should allow the client of the manufacturer based in Blagnac, near Toulouse, “to improve the operating economy and sustainability” of the latter.
The launch customer for this new range is the airline Air Corsica. “It benefits from a 20% reduction in maintenance costs and a 3% reduction in fuel consumption,” assures the subsidiary ofAirbus.
Good harvest for Airbus
The Dubai show was also a success for Airbus. The European giant has crushed its American rival Boeing, by formalizing agreements for 408 devices (269 firm orders and 139 commitments).
Good figures which should not translate into immediate recruitments. “It is premature to talk about hiring linked to these very positive announcements, which we will maintain to maintain our activity and continue to increase our production rate. This is a positive sign from the market, but we are not yet completely out of the crisis, ”a spokesperson for the group told Toulouse news.
