Strong winds have created chaos in large parts of southern Norway – several municipalities have put crisis staff
The storm means that the emergency network and the telephone network are down in Numedal, Hallingdal and parts of Ringerike, among other places.
– Large parts of the telephone network of Telenor, Telia and Ice are down in these areas, said department head for communication in Vestre Viken Helseforetak, Hege Frostad Dahle, to NTB in the 20s.
In Vestfold and Telemark, Viken and Innlandet, many of the base stations run on reserve power.
– Several stations may fail if the power failure persists. It could be worse than it is now, Dahle said.
– How serious is the situation when it comes to danger and health?
– It is a serious situation.
The Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB) informs VG that about 50 of the 2,085 base stations in Nødnett are affected by the storm in the 21st century. 90 base stations run on backup power solution.
Ambulance at McDonalds and emergency staff at Joker
Therefore, the health trust has sent out patrol cars in Flå, Nes, Ål and Kongsberg towards Numedal. These are the areas hardest hit. These run with blue lights, and people can turn to the ambulances for immediate help. Among other things, an ambulance with blue lights has been deployed outside McDonalds in Flå in Hallingdal.
– Where possible, we encourage people to go to the emergency room and emergency room themselves, the health authority writes.
The police in the Interior announce that several municipalities have set crisis staff. In Sør-Aurdal municipality, crisis staff and emergency services have established themselves at Joker in Hedalsvegen.
The capacity was blown – the pressure is reduced
– We constantly receive messages about trees that either block roads or are partially out of the way. It’s a challenge. For those who drive and clean up in this, the capacity is probably quite exploded, said operations manager Tore Grindem in the Southeast police district to NTB at 17.30.

Several traffic accidents

18,000 of Elvia’s customers will be without electricity due to storms and trees that have fallen over the power lines, communications consultant Cecilie Gregersen in Elvia informed TV 2. NTB’s check at 9 pm showed at 13,500 customers in 22 municipalities when there were no electricity.

There is a yellow warning for floods in Trøndelag and a yellow warning for landslides and floods in parts of Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal.
Orange hazard warning completed
An orange warning was issued for Vest-Agder, Aust-Agder, Telemark, Buskerud, Oppland and Hedmark.
From Friday morning, locally strong gusts were expected from the west and northwest, at a speed of 25-30 meters per second, the Meteorological Institute announced. The institute estimated that the wind would be strongest on Friday afternoon, and then decrease throughout the evening.

Roof tiles blew off, glass fell from the tower
In Sogn og Fjordane and Møre og Romsdal, a yellow danger warning was issued for strong gusts of wind.

In Oslo, the police and fire brigade moved out to the tower “Tjuvtitten” on Tjuvholmen after a report that glass had fallen from the tower.
– If you find a proper roof, it can do this more. Then it’s not that easy to get up there. It is about 50 meters up to where two glass plates are broken and are in danger of this out, said operations manager Christian Krohn Engeseth to VG.
