Salzburg: That was the industry fair “Alles für den Gast” in 2021
In order to celebrate the comeback of the industry for a fee, content and know-how transfer were the top priorities for RX this year. In addition to personalities from business and politics, young entrepreneurs in particular come to the fair. More than 30 start-ups presented their innovations. The prerequisite for the implementation of “Everything for the Guest” was a strong safety and hygiene concept.
Even if the fair looked a little different in 2021 due to these hygiene measures, it still has one transports emotional value for the industry – Exhibitors in particular reported valuable contacts. Exhibition manager and Head of Operations Andreas Ott is pleased with the solidarity of the exhibitors: “In view of the exhibitors, it is currently by no means self-evident to appear at a trade fair and use the financial means for it.”
Fewer trade fair tourists, but solidarity in the industry
»The› Alles für den Gast ‹has shown once again that it is Austria’s largest trade fair despite the current situation. This shows how important tourism, the hotel industry and gastronomy are in our country, «says Barbara Leithner, Operations manager from RX Austria and Germany. »What I’m particularly happy about is the solidarity in the industry, even in difficult times. I would like to thank you very much. «In return, Christoph Haiböck, Country Manager Austria Melitta, appreciated above all the high number of trade visitors: »The fact that there were fewer trade fair tourists is not a disadvantage. We have had very positive and highly qualified discussions and can also make some nice sales. Under the current circumstances, we can also draw a very positive conclusion. “
Competitions as part of the trade fair
At this year’s “Austrian Coffee Championships”, organized by SCA Austria, Junior Vargas won the title of “Barista Champion”. Martin Wölfl convinced the jury at the »Brewers Cup« and Bojan Pasic won the »Cup Tasting«. “Everything was well organized and it was fun to be part of it. We’d love to come back, ”said Wölfl happily.
That was especially exciting “GastroHackathon”, hosted by Dishtracker. A digital solution had to be developed in 24 hours for a specific problem in the catering, hotel or tourism sector. The »Gleap« team won with their solution automated website creation via a chatbot.
