Perugini led the historic search in the vegetable garden of Pacciani where on April 29 he found in the ground a cartridge for a 22 long rifle pistol, with the letter H, the same signs of the weapon, never found, which had been used by the Monster in the eight double crimes . The discovery framed Pacciani even if it has always been a circumstance that is still debated. Perugini claimed to be able to know Pacciani very well and became his main accuser, testifying against him at the trial. “Rare, multiform, dissimulator”, he defined it.
