Grand Cahors supports the creation of the Bordeaux-Toulouse LGV
Like the Department on Monday, the Community Council of Grand Cahors voted in favor of the Grand Projet Ferroviaire du Sud-Ouest (GPSO) whose creation of the Bordeaux-Toulouse LGV is the flagship project and animates debates in the region. “We are supporting the project which will provide a second connection from Cahors to Paris via the LGV. But in return, we will ask for the guarantee and development of TER and Intercités access to Bressols which will make it possible to make a Cahors-Paris journey in less than 4 hours. At the same time, we will continue to defend and strengthen the historic POLT line. We will ensure that the State keeps its commitments. The two lines are complementary “underlines the President of Grand Cahors. He recalls that the State has undertaken to ensure the modernization of the POLT line by taking charge of 2/3 of the financing. Grand Cahors wishes to be associated with the governance bodies of the GPSO and supports a dedicated local public establishment which collects financial contributions from the territories concerned, including Grand Cahors.
It also asks for the active support of the SNCF in the construction of the Lot Greenway which preserves the land entity of the old Cahors-Capdenac railway line.
