San Marino-England, the day before the English fans go to the stadium to cheer on Rimini
Fans dressed in the colors of national football teams emblazoned on the streets, champions in hotels to stay overnight. It often happens on the Riviera, the small national team of the Republic of San Marino regularly participates in qualifying for the European and European Championships. And at the Serravalle stadium, on the slopes of Mount Titan, there were not a few luxury challenges valid for the tournament: on the evening of November 15, it was the England vice-champion of Europe to take the field against the San Marino players.. In Rimini (where both the players and the supporters are staying) there were fears of unrest due to the arrival of the hooligans (especially after the victory in the European Championships of Italy) but at the moment no criticism has been reported. many fans of Rimini Calcio, which plays in Serie D, will remember Sunday: about 150 supporters from England took up residence in the stands of Romeo Neri and displayed their flags.
The local ultrers annoyed
Watched by Digos, the British fans did not create particular problems. Indeed, despite the Rimini ultras did not like the – peaceful – visit singing choruses and teasing (including It’s coming Rome in reference to the trophy won by Italy against England) they also cheered and supported the local team that just yesterday overwhelmed Aglianese 5-1 in casando the primacy in the standings (in Rimini, whose football team a decayed noble, the fans seek redemption after a disappointing B conquest that came after the dreams of glory of the times in which Juventus made their debut in series at Romeo Neri). But despite the lukewarm reception of the ultrs, the rest of the supporters who followed the match in the distinct and lateral sectors appreciated the support from across the Channel.
The Rimini people are excited
They were there with their coats of arms and banners – says a Rimini fan – it was a good time. When Rimini scored the second goal, and it was a really nice goal to watch, they too joined the roar of the Rimini people. At the end of the game it was nice to see locals and English high-five, hug and cheer together. And for the croca, no interventions by the police were reported.
