Busto beats Florence 3-0 and is in the third group
Three is a magic number: three sets, three points and third place in the standings for Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio getting rid of the Bisonte Firenze – not as easily as I suggest the 3-0 final – and resumes the I walk at full speed in the upper parts of the women’s volleyball A1 championship.
The one in viale Gabardi was one real game and relative complicated for Musso’s team, little by little good at gaining field and inertia thanks to the usual provision of money order by Mingardi (20, MVP of the match). The power stations also did well, with Stevanovic author of 10 points and Olivotto who oversaw the work of the Wall: 13 in all, 5 those of the 30-year-old from Trentino.
With this balance Bust has extinguished the ardor fielded by a bison in which Nwakalor has been a constant in attack while Panetoni stood out in the defensive phase. But it was not enough for the Tuscans because this time the UYBA was on the pitch with the right dose of hunger and determination and went to take third place behind the unbeaten Imoco (21 points) and Novara (18). There is traffic over there, because with Busto a 14 there are Scandicci and Monza but, in short, the club is one of those level.
Winning with Florence era considered an important step also because the Butterflies are now ready for debut in the CEV Cup: on Wednesday Musso’s team will be on the field in Belgium (against VDK Gent) for the first leg of the 16mi final, and the championship test was also useful for embarking on the European journey well. Having won 3-0 in front of almost 1,800 spectators is another fact to underline.
THE VOICES
MUSSO: «I’m happy with the victory: it was important to try to impose our pace and our game, we did it with an opponent who can compete at high levels. I am a little less satisfied with the handling of mistakes in certain situations that risk putting the opponent back into play rather than allowing us to increase the gap of advantage. Having said that, we bring home a nice 3-0 which represents a step forward in building our confidence on the pitch and our game system ».
MINGARDI: «Three very important points after three defeats in which two had arrived anyway. It was essential to get a full loot tonight and I’m happy because despite the fact that we started with the handbrake then we unlocked ourselves by playing a good race ».
THE MATCH
Musso starts with the Poulter – Mingardi diagonal, the Olivotto and Stevanovic power stations, Gray and Bosetti in the band and Zannoni free. Florence starts better, is aggressive with Sorokaite and Nwakalor giving +3 to the Tuscans. It’s up to Gray and Mingardi to cut back and Bosetti to overtake but Cambi gives the advantage back to Bisonte. New external +3 with Nwakalor (12-15) but from then on Busto grows, draws and overtakes. The flashes of Olivotto and Bosetti set the finish, served by Poutler after an ace from Sorokaite (25-21).
The victory in the first partial launches Uyba also in the second with Mingardi and Gray leading the game. The time to touch +5, then Florence places a split of 1-5 for 13-12. They are balanced minutes but then Busto returns to +3 with super Gray and from there on the road is downhill with Mingardi to sign the 25-20.
The third set opens with Stevanovic formidable on the block and with Mingardi confident in attack. Soon the Butterflies rise to +5 (10-5, 12-7) but Knollema reacts and brings her back to contact. Musso’s timeout is useful, Mingardi warms his arm again and moves forward but Belien doesn’t fit (18-17). Ungureanu joins Camilla and this time the guests give some heavy points: the trio Stevanovic-Poulter-Gray understands the hint and puts down the balls of the 25-20.
