Parking in Prague 5 and its parking zones
Another part of the city we’re going to look at today is Prague 5. This is a larger Prague area, which includes Motol, Košíře, Smíchov, Radlice, Hlubočepy, but also part of the area of Jinonice, Břevnov and Malá Strana. One would say that parking here will not be such a problem, so how to take it.
Parking in the shopping center
The mall is a sure bet where to leave the car parked for a few hours. For example, in OC Smíchov you have two hours for free, for which you can complete the meeting on the way back, because right next to the department store there are both tram and metro stops. On weekends, you can park for 5 hours for free, which is also a solid time for parking for a family trip.
Parking on the street
In almost all parts of the city, you have to pay for parking. Except blue zones here you will find to a large extent also mixed – ie purple and gray zones. In such areas, an hour of parking is cheap. The only place you could park for free, though at your own risk is the area around dormitories Strahov. However, apart from the students, dubious people move here at night, so a few saved crowns could cost you quite a lot.
If you are heading to Prague Motol Hospital, then be patient, because if hell is parking in Prague 1, then the next is to park right next to this hospital. There are terribly few parking spaces here, and sometimes it’s a struggle with others. So come to the examination with a larger reserve, so that you do not rush and something does not happen. However, if you would rather leave a place somewhere on the outskirts of Prague – Zličín or in the P + R car park, then you can easily get to the hospital by metro.
Parking in Malvazinky and Klamovka will be similarly difficult. Unfortunately, there is also a fight for places. It’s better on weekends, but people are increasing, while there aren’t that many parking spaces. The situation for non-residents is relatively difficult.
You can no longer leave your car in the parking lot, for example near Hornbach in Velká Chuchle, because after the reconstruction of the road, automated barriers were created here. Nevertheless, just opposite is the new Lidl, where you could leave the car. However, it is a fairly large gravel at the nearest stop, which you simply do not want to go to in the late afternoon or early morning.
Parking in a private parking lot
In addition to parking in the business center or on the street, you can order in the private car park. Most of them are guarded, so you don’t have to worry so much about the tin darling. Such goals include, for example Mr. Parkite, Smíchov railway station parking lot (non-stop operation, closed building together with security, no reservation required, standing hour 40 crowns – 12 hours 200 crowns), Public paid parking – Strakonická (monitored guarded parking lot, price per day 200 crowns, cars with LPG can also park here), parking lot in Kováků street (non-stop parking, 350 crowns per day), or even more Hlaváčkova car park (beware of very high number of parking spaces, impossible to park in the evening). Most of them require a reservation.
