Belarus increases military contingent on the border
Belarus is building up its military contingent on the border with Poland, in particular, in the area of the Bruzgi-Kuznitsa checkpoint.
The Ministry of National Defense of Poland announced this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
“All armed functionaries of the Belarusian services are arriving in the Kuznitsa area,” the message says.
The representative of the coordinating minister of the Polish special services Stanislav Zharin said on Twitter on Saturday that gossip is spreading between the migrants of the Belarusian side of the border, allegedly Germany will send buses to the Polish-Belarusian border to pick up migrants, and Poland will let them pass.
“The authors of this gossip hope that they will be able to encourage migrants to storm the Polish border. There may be dangerous situations, ”Zharin said.
As the agency informed, on Saturday night the Belarusian military in the area of the settlement of Cheremkha destroyed the barriers on the border with Poland with special equipment, blinding the Poles with lasers and searchlights.
On the Belarusian side, there are 2-4 thousand migrants in close proximity to the border; in total, up to 20 thousand migrants can be on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
As reported, since August, Polish border guards have prevented about 35 thousand attempts to illegally cross the border from the territory of Belarus by migrants from the Middle East and African countries.
On November 8, a large group of migrants approached the Polish border from the territory of the Republic of Belarus and attempted a massive forceful crossing of the border with Poland. Attempts to forcefully cross the border of various migrants from the territory of Belarus have recently been made regularly.
Poland accuses Belarus of deliberately created migration pressure on the Republic of Poland, the Baltic countries and the EU.
Until the end of November, a state of emergency is in effect in the border zone between Poland and Belarus.
