Salzburg-Aigen: car driver arrested after a wild chase
Dangerous scenes took place on Thursday afternoon in the Aigen district of Salzburg: A 27-year-old from Hallein was on a wild chase with the police.
Several police patrols were alerted on Thursday around 3 p.m. to look for the 27-year-old driver. This war had not stopped at one control before.
The fugitive vehicle could be spotted by a civil patrol in Aigner Strasse. As a result, other police officers put their cars across the lane to prevent the Tennengauer from continuing on.
The police gave the driver of the vehicle clear hand signals, which the man also noticed. Suddenly the handlebars backed several meters, then shifted into forward gear and finally drove off with his car with the front tires spinning. He drove straight towards the police officers who could only get to safety by jumping backwards.
The handlebars now sped away from town on the Aigner Strasse at extremely high speeds, and the chase could be started by the police patrol in question.
The police report says: “As a result of inconsiderate overtaking, several uninvolved car drivers were forced to brake or swerve. A red traffic light was also run over regardless of pedestrians or other road users.”
a patrol car driving into town, which was parked across the lane, stops the fugitive. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on the spot and immediately brought to the Salzburg prison by order of the Salzburg public prosecutor’s office.
No one was injured in the incident. During the search of the car, various narcotic drugs were found – but the 27-year-old was not drugged during the journey, according to the police. The man is because of the resistance against the state authority and various other reported offenses to the authorities.
