The black series continues on Luxembourg roads: on Wednesday night a motorist was killed by hitting a tree head-on. The circumstances of the accident remain to be determined.

The accident took place around 9.15 p.m. on the CR339 between Urspelt and Hupperdange. The emergency services specify that two ambulances, two firefighters and the Samu vehicles are called on the spot.

Police confirmed Thursday morning that the victim was an 18-year-old motorist from Troisvierges.

An autopsy was ordered by the prosecution.

UN OTHER SERIOUS ACCIDENT

And this is unfortunately not the only accident that required the intervention of the Samu on Wednesday night.

About an hour later, two cars collided on the RN02 between Trintange and Roedt. According to the police, it would have occurred when one of the two motorists would have initiated a maneuver to turn.

One of the people living in it was trapped in the passenger compartment of his car. She was extricated by firefighters and then taken care of by the emergency doctor before being transported to hospital.

The police carried out blood alcohol tests on the two drivers. That of the seriously injured was negative but not that of the other motorist who had his license withdrawn.

The road was closed to traffic until 2 a.m. A report was drawn up on the spot.
