Toulouse. “Punch” operations launched by the SNCF, around November 11

Punch operations will be launched by SNCF in the Occitanie region and in Toulouse, during the weekend of November 11, 2021. Here is what is planned.
Four major projects
The program to renew and modernize rail infrastructure in Occitania is continuing. It will be intensified during the weekend of November 11.
Four sites the most important will be built: a new road bridge at Escalquens, the replacement of switches and track components at Toulouse Matabiau, the construction of a sealed enclosure Agde and the replacement of six structures at Frontignan.
Thus, the circulation of TER liO will be interrupted in the hollow of the November 11 bridge, on several lines:
- Perpignan – Narbonne – Montpellier : from 10 to 14 November to remove the Agde level crossing and replace the Frontignan railway bridge
- Toulouse-Montauban, Toulouse-Agen, Toulouse-Cahors-Brive, Toulouse Mazamet and Toulouse-Figeac : from November 11 to 14 to modernize one of the signal boxes north of Toulouse Matabiau station
- Toulouse-Carcassonne : from 11 to 14 November to remove the Escalquens level crossing
Interruptions also for the Intercités
Concerning Intercity trains, SNCF warns that one in two trains will be in circulation on Thursday 11 and Sunday 14 November. The links will be interrupted Friday November 12 and Saturday November 13.
A detailed schedule of schedules and replacement cars will be communicated by SNCF from November 8.
Several million euros invested
SNCF also recalls that the cost of setting up the road bridge at Escalquens is 12 million euros. As for the renewal of switches at Toulouse-Matabiau station, it amounts to 2.1 million euros.
