“I am in powder, in disarray – disemboweled, disassembled, burned out and fatally escaped once in a non-existent life” – says about Adam Miauczyński, 44 years old. Teacher, Polish teacher, neurotic. Teenager’s father, divorced. Connoisseur of Chopin, Mickiewicz and corn flakes. Gray Pole.
Miauczyński is a hero involved in reality, who he can barely bear. He obsessively fights with every minute of his life, trying to control it somehow. He has failed in his career, has failed in marriage, has failed in anything. He might wake up, get up, and not go crazy. Struggling with his obsessions, lack and growing frustration, Adaś Miauczyński tries to achieve reality. reality appears to be overwhelming. More and more every day. Every morning I get up and my whole “day of freak”.
The latest performance of the Białołęka Cultural Center, just like the entire work of Marek Koterski, balances between the comic and the tragic elements. On the one hand – to the art of maladaptation. A drama about burnout, fatigue, helplessness in confrontation with the world, oneself and other people. But most of all – a play about loneliness.
