This is how much your traffic fine costs in the Netherlands and in Germany
ARNHEM – In the new year, the rates for many traffic fines in the Netherlands will rise considerably again. The German government also leaves the amounts. Yet speeding is still a lot cheaper with our eastern neighbors than in our own country. View here how big the differences are.
Germany doubles the amount of some fines. If a car driver now works too hard between 16 kilometers per hour and 20 kilometers later he spends 35 euros, but that will soon be 70 euros. A doubling sounds intense, but the amounts of traffic fines in the Netherlands are still a lot higher, especially now that prices are going up again.
The Ministry of Justice and Security has revised the rates for traffic fines in new22 procedures. In most cases they go up a few euros, but amounts do become 100 euros more expensive. In the Netherlands, a fine for a speeding violation between 16 and 20 km/h within built-up areas costs 152 to 201 euros.
