“The value of work” CSdL celebrates its 20th Congress on Thursday and Friday
The 20th CSdL Congress was presented this morning at a press conference, scheduled for Thursday 11 and Friday 12 November at the Palace Hotel in Serravalle, on the theme “The value of work”. Giuliano Tamagnini, who initially took the floor, affirmed the wide and qualified debate in the assemblies with the workers and in the four Federation Congresses in recent days “There was a great desire to participate,” said Tamagnini. “After a year and a half of restrictions due to the pandemic, the workers wanted to resume the direct relationship with the union, in a phase in which we hope to overcome the most critical curve of the health emergency, even if the numbers of infections are starting to have a climb. ” In reaffirming the role of vaccination in combating the pandemic, he expressed the hope that the large pharmaceutical manufacturers of vaccines would allow countries more to provide companies with the vaccine doses necessary on their own terms at accessible conditions, renouncing patents. “Economic issues are among the dominant topics of debate in the congress debate”, recalled Tamagnini. “If we are trying to get out of a health crisis, we risk entering an economic crisis. The central theme of development financing for the country remains, and in this sense the resources of the international loans that the Government has resorted to that have been used. the burden of public debt reached 105% of GDP, equal to 1.4 billion euros, of which more than 80% generated by bank failures, largely due to current spending and to cover the holes in the Grava throughout the country , the result of the management of the last 20-25 years. We need to understand what are the responsibilities of what happened, both on a judicial and political level; it is time for the parties to tell the truth, highlighting who covered up this mismanagement. ” “The main reforms – added the CSdL Secretary – must be dealt with in the context of a general management table; pensions, taxation, direct and indirect taxes. Has started no confrontation to remedy, in the sense of fairness, the tax reform of the 2013, while the Secretaries of Labor and Health proceed on their own account respectively on the labor market and pensions. Held together and addressed by the entire government. ” Giuliano Tamagnini then declared that after this 20th Congress he will end his long trade union experience and will retire. The candidate for the office of Secretary General is Confederal Secretary Enzo Merlini, also from the industry sector. “With Enzo – recalled Tamagnini – I shared a long militancy and many battles made up of many objectives, and even some unrealized goals. Ours has always been a lively organization, which dialogues and sometimes has a heated dialectic, but in the end he always knows how to find a synthesis within himself. ” Enzo Merlini then spoke and recalled his militancy which began in the Industry Federation 26 years ago and was called by Giuliano Tamagnini. “The renewal of our organization goes on anyway – underlined Enzo Merlini – so much so that new young managers have entered the full-time trade union structure, and at the same time grow to new figures who also in the years to come the necessary turnover.” On the organizational level, the delegates to the 20th Congress – representing the four category Federations – are 304, of which 117 women and 187 men, with a female presence of 38.5%, a percentage higher than that of the previous congress. In general there has been a significant renewal among the different delegates, including young people, who are training for the first time. CSdL is the first and most representative trade union in San Marino, with 7,100 total members, of which 3,600 are active workers and 3,500 are retired. With respect to the priorities for trade union action, Enzo Merlini highlighted how the main issues – including the contract renewals themselves – must be pursued hand in hand. “They did not obtain good contractual results – he pointed out – if at the same time reforms were passed that penalize workers and pensioners, which nullify the same results. Since at the beginning of 2022 the contracts of all sectors will have expired, it is desirable to start a a contractual campaign involving all workers, and which has as its primary objective that of helping the weaker sectors, to allow them to reach more advanced regulatory and economic conditions. ” The need to link the pension reform to other reforms was also underlined by FUPS Secretary Elio Pozzi. “If we can guarantee quality public health, we can also endure a possible reform that partially reduces treatments: but if the level of health services of the ISS continues to drop, no setback would be bearable. In light of the shortcomings and difficulties in health care public, you get the impression that you want to strive as much as possible towards private healthcare, and this has a very strong impact on pensioners. Therefore, on Thursday 11 November, the 20th CSdL Congress kicks off. After a brief greeting by the Secretary General Giuliano Tamagnini, the task of carrying out the introductory report is entrusted to Enzo Merlini. Then there will be greetings by the Secretary for Labor Teodoro Lonfernini, by the National Deputy Secretary of the CGIL Gianna Fracassi, by the Director of the ILO Italy San Marino Office Gianni Rosas, of the CDLS General Secretary Gianluca Montanari.
