The city of Salzburg also prohibits private fireworks on this New Year’s Eve
The turn of the year 2021/2022 is to be silenced again in the city of Salzburg. Private fireworks are banned again.
There will be no exceptions for New Year’s Eve in 2021 either, to Mayor Harald Preuner: “The city of Salzburg was one of the first cities in Austria to ban private firecrackers on New Year’s Eve, and we have had very good experiences with it big fireworks over the fortress we can all look forward to. ” The city’s big fireworks display this time is organized by the tourism company with the support of professionals from the pyrotechnics sector.
Fireworks bans generally exist throughout the year. The only exceptions for private individuals were on New Year’s Eve. These exceptions are granted by the individual city or local authorities. For the first Corona New Year’s Eve (2020/2021), private fireworks were prohibited simply because of the existing exit restrictions. Nevertheless, it banged quickly everywhere.
Legally, there will be no lifting of the fireworks ban for private individuals this year either. In the city of Salzburg all small fireworks of category F2, i.e. rockets, fountains, fire wheels and fire pots are prohibited. Only category F1 fireworks are permitted (e.g. sparklers, crackers, crackers, table fireworks, etc.).
Locals and visitors are informed of the prohibition by means of poster stands. There WILL also be no sales opportunities for rockets and firecrackers on public property (owned by the city). In addition, the mayor announces that key checks will be carried out again on New Year’s Eve.
