It was about 9.30, when a police patrol, passing by, noticed a man asking for help stained with blood. The policemen stopped and immediately requested the intervention of an ambulance staff. A matter of minutes and a 118 ambulance arrived, transporting the man to the nearby hospital of San Camillo. At the moment of entry to the emergency room it was in red code. Doctors had to apply more than 40 stitches to him to stop the bleeding from dog bites. He is now hospitalized on a reserved prognosis. The victim did not have the documents with him but appeared as a homeless citizen. Most likely he was on the lawn to rest or to prepare a makeshift bed. «I was on the lawn – these are the few words spoken to the rescuers – when I was approached by those big dogs who at a certain point pounced on me. I thought I was going to die. I felt a monstrous pain in my leg and I saw the blood coming out. Not so what happened. I only know that at a certain point those dogs let go and set me free ».
THE INVESTIGATIONS
To deal with the investigation are the agents of the San Paolo police station who carried out an inspection on the spot without finding the dogs anymore. Hence also the hypothesis that the owner has taken them away. According to some testimonies, the dogs could of one that would be lonely free them in the lady park adjacent to via Portuense.
