it can cost hundreds of thousands, yet more and more people are cutting it
Composting, which is actually an ancient waste recovery process, has never been as popular among the urban population as it is today. Anyone who is happy to reduce the amount of garbage he extracts has a good option with a smart kitchen structure, but would rather cut into what to walk around, methods of quantity to choose the best passer. You can buy a plain compost bucket for less than 3 thousand forints, the complete home page costs 20 thousand forints, but they also thought of fashion environmentalists, they have a 180 thousand electric machine!
It is filling our planet with more and more eyes, which has already become such a serious problem that it needs to be addressed not only at the level of individual consumers, but also at the level of government. In Hungary, 18 million tons of waste are generated annually, a significant part of which is municipal waste. 14-17 percent of municipal waste is plastic, 3-4 percent is metal, and 3.8-4.6 percent is glass. 35% of plastic waste is currently recycled, and by 2035 this proportion should be raised to 5% in line with the previous regulation.

Therefore, it is more important that the population not only selectively but also selectively collect household waste and avoid less. One good way to do this is composting, which is actually an ancient waste recovery process.
One of the biggest advantages of composting is that most of the waste generated in households, so it is not generated in the trash, but is used usefully, and we provide nutrients to our plants and our garden cheaply. Composted garden and kitchen waste improves soil structure as well as water and heat management.
In the kitchen? This is serious?
54 percent of the Hungarian population lives in a detached family house, given the traditional outdoor unit, but what about those who have neither a garden nor a terrace, but still want to reduce the amount of household waste in their rooms or their nutrient-rich humus feed plants? For them, the indoor compost may be an ideal solution, which is barely larger than a garbage can, so even unnoticed inside the apartment.
What can you go to “gané”?
With less home eyes, a smaller carbon footprint sounds good, but there are a few golden rules you should follow. For example, do not include leftover pastry, cooking oil, cooked leftovers, meat obsession dairy product. However, what we can boldly put into it is Agricultural sector article according to
- peel of fruits and vegetables
- melon peel
- grounds
- tea leaves and paper tea filters
- withered vegetables that we can no longer consume
- plant residues
- smooth cooked rice
- eggshell
- old, dried spices and herbs that have already lost their flavor
- a festive wreath of canes and plants – the elements of the work and the wires must be cut beforehand!
There is a demand for indoor composting tools, as there are many such tools sold by both domestic and companies. A simple, carbon-filtered bucket, already At a price below 2 thousand forints we can also get it, but we will need quite a few accessories for that. For those who like to buy everything at once minimum 20 thousand forint you have to pay for the starter pack (bokashi method). This includes the strater compost culture also, which helps speed up processes with microorganisms such as lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, photosynthetic organisms and fungi.
The bucket has two end products, on the one hand, said fermented compost tea, which can be used in high dilution as a plant nutrient solution and, according to some sides, as a drain cleaner. The other is a semi-composted mass of compacted waste that requires further composting or into a larger amount of soil mixed into soil. Only then will it be suitable for plants to be composted – writes Kreativ Farmer.

Another method is earthworm compost, a closed vessel made of plastic buckets, in the upper part of which our homemade earthworms work: they produce quality humus from our organic green waste. In the lower part of the compost, a nutrient-rich liquid accumulates, which, when properly diluted, can be used as a nutrient solution for growing our plants. Worm composting is about the original volume of one of our organic waste. It falls to 15% and the end result is 100% usable valuable nutrients for our plants. Of course, for those who are more serious about disposing of household waste, the food manufacturers also thought:
An electric compost can also be purchased for 160-180 thousand forints.
The device has an automated drying, grinding and cooling program for up to 4 hours. This is of course not composting in the traditional sense, as it takes time and main bacteria, this device tends to dry out and grind the residue. Purchasing such a machine, of course, reduces the amount of household waste, up to 80 whole, but the electrical purchase of another device is just at odds with the principles that led to the whole movement.
Not all gold
Proper anaerobic fermentation is indicated by the white or sweet-sour odor on the surface of the compost mixture, improper fermentation is indicated by the unpleasant, rotting odor, in which case sprinkle a handful of sugar on the compost mixture and ensure complete sealing from the air.
As mini composting is a new method, it is worthwhile for everyone to experiment with the most appropriate application in their own household.
In addition, although a well-functioning closed system will not smell or attract muslics in the early experimental phase, let’s expect our kitchen to be full of unwanted winged guests. And small workers in the worm composter are easy to poison, they are relatively sensitive little creatures, so let’s find out what to eat and what not.
