Bulgaria has reached 5K +: a complex cascade of interconnected crises – Analyzes
IDA (Ignorance-Denial-Arrogance) – ignorance-negation-arrogance mostly of people leads to failure with the crisis, in the complex interaction of a cascade of realized risks – Kovid-Climate-Cyber and in addition Corruption and Commercialization. These are “The five K systemic risks that are possible and that are approached very late, have led to failure.
Bulgaria is becoming an example as apathy, ignorance, denial and arrogance in the pursuit of personal rather than public interests in a pandemic and risk cascade are further exacerbated by cybercrime and special manipulation of society through social media, as well as by the specific political situation.
Another major problem is the lack of leaders and the inability to engage and unite society. In many countries, including Bulgaria, there is a lack of leaders. Self-proclaimed to search, do not meet the demand and needs. Their interests are not in the direction of the interests of society, but the personal ones, they have no vision and cannot communicate from there and do not create trust and unity in the society in relation to the direction that should be.
Where you have real leaders, society follows them and unites to take action, vaccinate and tackle the pandemic. Where there were none – division, mistrust created chaos in society and the pandemic continued in a negative spiral.
From a new managerial point of view, we live in the middle of the planet – to increase and interdependent world, with risks unseen and unforeseen reaches. The old approach to risk is absolutely outdated and unable to solve the current problems of global interconnected risks.
Strategic Risk Policy, or RISK 4, is the new model for dealing with complex cascades of risks that governments face. This makes it possible to anticipate risks, including unseen and unforeseen, to prevent actions, preventive actions, corrective actions and to manage crises when the previous steps fail to control the situation.
What is it in Bulgaria – we can call it 5K +, ie. a complex cascade of interconnected crises plus political ones. What are the characteristics:
– Lack of situation analysis
– Lack of action planning in convenient phases and resource provision
– Outdated reactive thinking – a short reaction after the crisis has realized
– Ignorance and misinformation
– Lack of leaders to take responsibility and unite society
– Lack of trust in the government
– Arrogant attitude and / commercial interests (“this does not hurt me politically”)
– Corruption diverting critical resources
– The escalation of tension and anxiety provides a cascade of crises
– Lack of the mentioned Risk 4 of prevention: planning of restrictions, travel restrictions, vaccination and social distancing, combination of prevention of actions.
We are entering the zone of “preconditions we have not seen” and “consequences we have not imagined.” It must be a complete restructuring of thinking towards risk, leadership and the world at large.
