“The rough construction is completely finished. Only the details inside the construction are being finished, with the proviso that at the end of this month we would like to have the construction approved so that we can start live operation on December 1, 2021,” said Scheinherr.
In Chlumecký there was originally a common parking lot with about 300 places. There is now a parking house on its area. Of the total number, 89 spaces are intended for parking cars on gas. “It is one of the most modern parking houses in Prague, where most of them are prohibited from entering CNG / LPG cars,” said Scheinherr. Another 22 seats are reserved for the disabled and 18 seats for parents with children, which are special wider seats. Eight places will be used for piercing electric cars. The house also has 28 places for motorcycles and a lockable place where cyclists can store their bikes.
Since the commissioning of the parking house, the City Hall of Prague 14 has been promising a drop in the number of cross-country drivers’ cars on its streets. “Prague 14 does not have paid parking zones, so there is no regulation in our streets that would work. It concerns dozens of streets near the metro station, within walking distance of some 300 or 400 meters. There we perceive it as really critical, “Said Hukal.

In the territory of Prague 14, another 101 places were recently created in Chlumecká, when the used parking lane was canceled, in which drivers have already parked illegally. Another two dozen places were created at the tram loop in Lehovec.
The new P + R car park will be built at the Prague-Hostivař railway station, where there will be 78 parking spaces. Another will be in Opatov in the South Town, where the city is now finalizing project constructions. “We could have a building permit next year. One of the largest parking houses we are planning will be in Zličín,” said Scheinherr. This year we obtained a building permit for a parking house in Dědina in Prague 6, but it will only be used for residents.
There are about twenty parking lots in the territory of Prague and they are operated by the city company Technická správa komunikací (TSK). From August 2021, the city management raised the price of parking in most of the parking lots. For four, people will pay 100 crowns for daily parking and 50 crowns for nine. The remaining seven, which are not guarded, are free for 12 hours. So far, drivers in all car parks except one have paid 20 crowns a day.
