Digital Inclusive Entrepreneurship Scandinavia: Ignites the entrepreneurial spark in migrants
Anson knows well what it is like to come to a new country and look for work. She herself came from Spain with many years of project manager experience in her backpack. As she did not find exactly the same professional role in Norway, she also does not have her own workplace as a consultant.
Partners from Folkeuniversitetet Sverige, Videnscenter for Integration in Denmark and Oslo International Hub in Norway joined forces in 2019 on the project Digital Inclusive Entrepreneurship Scandinavia. Despite the fact that Norway, Sweden and Denmark have a lot in common, according to Anson, they have learned a lot from each other’s differences and gained access to other environments.
With support from Nordplus Voksen, the collaboration has developed a platform, tools, and various courses as well as workshops to better integrate migrants into the labor market. Local coaches help with networking and investment training.
– Migrants often bring with them other types of skills and new ways of thinking that Scandinavian society lacks. This leads to a broader offer and growth in society. Institutions that work with lifelong learning should be interested in what migrants can offer and expand their horizons, Anson believes.
