Malmö, Sweden will play host to this long awaited IFAF European Championship gold games that come pit Team Sweden against Italy.
Team Sweden will try to defend their home ground and celebrate their first gold since 2005 in front of friends and family. Sweden defeated Finland semifinals to host today’s championship game. On the visitor side an extremely talented Italian the team looks to be writing history with its first IFAF European championship.
Leading the home team’s offensive is quarterback Phillip Juhlin. Juhlin played well against Finland in his last excursion two weeks ago and will target recipient Jacob Bergwall, Kevin Börzsei, and Mattias Gauthier. Kasper Wedberg and Timmy Göransson will share the load from the back field. Both players are fat runners who can take tough yards after contact. A strong linebacking core headline Italian Defenses like Enzo Mensah, Nicholas Knoblauch, Nick Alfieri and Alex Ferrari are physical tacklers with speed, eager to represent their country again. In the trenches, Milan sailors captain Lorenzo Dalle Piagge needs a big game to help contain a talented group of Swedish defenders. In the secondary Guiseppe Della Vecchia, a veteran of Italian national team expects to influence from its security position along with German Football League master Cody Pastorino.
