Covid-19 in Portugal: one death and 763 cases | Coronavirus
Portugal registered, on Saturday, one death and 763 new cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, according to the most recent data from the Directorate-General for Health, released this Sunday.
In total, the country accounts for 18,157 deaths by covid-19 and 1,090,651 confirmed cases since March 2020, the month in which the first cases of infection were registered in the national territory.
There are 17 more people in the hospital, with a total of 335 patients hospitalized with covid-19. There are five fewer people in intensive care units than on Friday, out of 59.
Health authorities said 324 more people were recovered, a total of 1,040,604 since the start of the pandemic. Under surveillance are now 22,372 contacts, 133 more than on Friday.
The balance between new cases and recoveries was negative: there are now 438 more active cases of infection, for a total of 31,890.
The risk matrix indicators, which monitor the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the country, were updated on Friday. According to the most recent data, Portugal is in the “yellow zone”.
